• Synopsis
Hye Young is a young woman who works as a sidewalk artist in Amsterdam. She keeps getting flowers delivered to her door every day, without ever
knowing who sends them. Park Yi is a hitman, also working in Amsterdam, and has fallen for Hye Young, but just admires her from afar, and never
shows himself to her. One day though, while Hye Young sits out in the street doing sketches of people, she meets Jung Woo, an elite Interpol agent,
whom she starts to fall for, and who of course gets in the way for Park Yi who has yet to reveal himself for her.

• Quotes
Ji Hyun about Andrew Lau: "I really can't speak the two languages that well. Of course a language barrier can always exist, but before
meeting Director Lau, watching 'Infernal Affairs' I felt a very strong uneasiness because of its very dynamic and masculine elements. I was
worried about approaching the characters' emotions the way he wanted, and about whether he could understand my acting style. Yet, the
first time I met him I realized there was no need for language."
About her character: "My character gets loved by two men. Her pure love and the way she leads her life was very attractive to me."
About her role as a painter: "I can't really draw that well, but I took lesson to at least look the part. I know myself better than anyone
else, and I know I couldn't possibly learn that much in a short time. So I approached those lessons without rushing, and tried my best not to look
awkward. One day my teacher told me to draw a tree, and I kept wondering why. He told me later, that it was to find my own tree, the kind of
tree only Jeon Ji Hyun can draw."
Her first love triangle: "Since this is the first time I act in a love triangle, trying to find the right way to express those feelings was quite
complicated. There were also many changes compared to the original script I read in Korea."
Filming in the Netherlands: "The biggest difference between the Netherlands and here was that obviously not many people recognized
me, so the people working with me [road manager, coordinator, etc.] might have had it much easier. But then again I kept constantly looking at
the phone, as I was always afraid they'd leave me alone."
Director Andrew Lau about Ji Hyun: "Jeon Ji Hyun showed her English and Chinese skills with ease. I might have been the director, but I
found the unique and mysterious colour Jeon gave to her character really appealing. I think the most important thing in this film is the feeling and
fate establishing between the characters, their ways of expressing that sentiment and how by repeating different scenes a connection between
them is formed."

JUNE 29, 2005: "As I mentioned before, we are here to work and also have fun! And Gianna (Ji Hyun) understands that so well and threw us a party at the hotel we stay after wrap today,
which basically…has topped all the parties we had through out the production!!
JUNE 21, 2005: "After seeing the guys sweating like pigs on the court having fun, Gianna (Ji Hyun) gathered us girls and get silly with the football too!! But I have to tell you, being out of shape without
exercise for quite some years, it’s kind of…HELL for me to run in the court like that…even though we only played for about 15 minutes…hahaha! Obviously, my team lost… And being the captain of the winning
team, Gianna (Ji Hyun) seems didn’t get enough of the 15 minutes and would like a rematch before we end our shoot in 2 weeks… And I hate to lose…but to stand a chance to win…maybe
I should start working out."
JUNE 15, 2005: "I was once again amazed by watching Gianna (Ji Hyun) and Wilson (Woo Sung) in act. As you can see, you are in the middle of the chaos.
Though in spite of all that, two of them have to deliver a complex emotional scene in the core of the war zone. But what do you know, they were flawless!
I have worked and seen hundreds of scenes on set before, but I have never had tears by watching it behind cameras. Not to mention, I don’t even understand
Korean! I was moved, even in front of all those laughing chatty coffee drinkers, I was moved with tears. Truly, I have seen professionalism and perfection,
in every aspect today."
MAY 23, 2005: "I have never worked with Korean actors before. And now I’m working with the most popular ones in Asia! To be honest, I’m a big fan of “My Sassy Girl”…
The moment I met Ji Hyun (Gianna we called her), I was a bit intimidated. She’s very popular in Hong Kong and I bet all my friends are really jealous that I got
the chance to work with her. But she’s so gentle and graceful, actually is what you can imagine a star would be. But then, she’s nothing like the unreachable star
that she’s so down to earth. Her beauty and charm has swept every crew off their feet. Not to mention, she treated all crew with MacDonald’s today. She must
know that all the Asian crew are not very used to the Dutch food we’ve been having on set… And having a filet o fish for tea time is a life saver! My sassy Gainna…"

• Reviews
At least for the first half of Daisy, Ji Hyun is luminous. Ten minutes in, it is clear that she shares the same persona that makes Gubra’s Sharifah Amani so
appealing—an innocuous, disarming charm in front of the camera. Whenever she skips in the meadows, stretches out in Amsterdam’s city square or falls
headlong into a lake, she is the girl-next-door who is comfortable in her own skin. - ThinkOnline
Being the only female, Jeon Ji Hyun is charming as usual and commands presence. She is very beautiful in the long and plentiful shots taken of her as
she sits in the middle of the city drawing her portraits. She portrays the poignant but flat and somewhat boring character of Hye-young convincingly and
was telling in agitated scenes when she first meets Jung-Woo again after he left her and when she later confronts Park-yi about his true identity. The way s
he expresses her anger and frustrations through her expressions and actions was compelling since she could not use words to bring across her emotions. -

Fans of Jeon Ji Hyun should note that her character is far closer to her role in the glum supernatural drama 'The Uninvited' than 'My Sassy Girl' or 'Windstruck',
and while she tries her best to pull a few wacky faces here and there, her performance is certainly more subdued. - James Mudge @ BeyondHollywood
