Synopsis
When Saya, half vampire-half human is sent onto an American military base in Tokyo by the clandestine organization she works for,
she immediately senses that this may be her opportunity to finally destroy Onigen, the evil patriarch of all vampires. Using her
superhman strength and her sword, she begins to rid the base of its evil infestation in a series of spectacular and elaborate
showdowns. However, it is not until she forms her first human friendship in centuries with the young daughter of the base's
general that Saya learns of her greatest power over Onigen may well be her ability for human connection.

Jeon Ji Hyun's Role
On the surface, Saya is a stunning 16-year-old, but that youthful exterior hides the tormented soul of a 400-year-old "halfling."
Born to a human father and a vampire mother, she has for centuries been a loner obsessed with using her samurai skills to
rid the world of vampires, all the while knowing that she herself can survive only on blood like those she hunts.

Quotes
Ronny on Saya: I loved the idea a little girl that is immortal a teenager that is carrying this huge samurai
sword and cutting vampires.
About the financing: It's not a big-budget movie like "Freddy vs. Jason." I want to keep it small. We're trying to
finance it ourselves and find the financing ourselves. I want to do something different, so we can surprise the audience. I
don't want to do a vampire movie with the same-old same-old.
Typical vampire movie?: I want this to be the most beautiful vampire movie, but also the most haunting and
violent. And violence doesn't always happen in dark corners. Look at our wars -- they all happen in daylight, in beautiful sunlight.
But I wont be able to do that in America. That's why I'm trying to keep it independent.
The setting: I changed the setting of the story. In the animation, it was set in the 1960s. Now I move it to 1948 in
Tokyo, just after the bombing, just after the war. I think it will look visually stunning because of the ruin of the city and all the
death all around the city. Then the story happens right in the middle. There's a US Army camp because Japan at the time is
occupied by the US. So, you have this apple pie, good old wholesome American army camp and surrounding it is death and ruin.
