WINDSTRUCK CREW WHIRLS THROUGH TOWN FOR PROMO
OUR DEC. 3 Weekender cover star, Korean actress Jeon Ji Hyun, was in town to promote her latest film 'Windstruck' for Warner Bros.
Others here for the super-successful promo included Hong Kong-based producer Bill Kong ('Hero', 'House of Flying Daggers'), Korean producer Jung
Hoontack and Korean director Kwak Jaeyong.
It was three days of back-to-back interviews, a press conference, and a packed premiere at the International Forum.
In addition to Jeon’s many fans there were groups of young screaming fans for Jeon’s escort that evening, pop idol Yoshiki
of the band X Japan. Some of his music is on the soundtrack of 'Windstruck'.
I really got to know Jeon better at dinners at Hama Steakhouse in Roppongi and Inukaya. She had a new look ? with her long
black hair in different styles, and a variety of trendy fashions every time I saw her. Her days as a model paid off. She always looked great.
I became even more of a fan of one of Korea’s top actresses when she said, “I really enjoyed my work here, but do wish I would have had time to
help at your orphan’s party. I love children.”
After their busy work schedule the Korean VIPs spent one night at a hot spring and another watching a K-1 fighting tournament. Needless to say,
I wasn’t in the least bit surprised when I learned Windstruck had the biggest ever opening in Japan for a Korean film. You can still catch it with
English subtitles at Toho Cinema in Roppongi Hills.
