KOREAN FILM IS WHERE I BELONG
Jeon Ji Hyun of 'My Sassy Girl' returns as a mature woman after 2 years. In her new movie 'Daisy' (director Yoo Wikang, production
i Film), she is a street artist named Hye Young falling dangerou sly in love with a killer, showing off her unique innocent appearance
and acting of desperate love with depth to announce her change.
Before the opening, when we met her at a café in Kangnam, Seoul on the 8th, Jeon Ji Hyun had thrown off her down-to-earth and
tough image and become a calm woman. Jeon Ji Hyun said, “I wanted to escape the trap of ‘Jeon Ji Hyun movie’. The story or
message of the movie should be the focus, not Jeon Ji Hyun alone. I think this film was well-made from that point of view,” expressing
her satisfaction in the new movie.
Especially through this film, Jeon Ji Hyun will truly become a global star. After 'Il Mare' and 'Windstruck', and even before 'Daisy'
opened, a renowned US production company Gold Circle proposed remake rights. But Jeon Ji Hyun expressed regrets saying,
"Korean movies can be distributed directly to Hollywood, so it’s regrettable that it has to be remade.” She continued to say,
"Hollywood is not my final goal, whether I appear in a Hollywood film or work with a foreign director. I am a Korean actress so
I’ll lose my place if I leave Korean film," showing her strong pride in Korean film and acting.
The movie 'Daisy' is about a killer and a cop who loved the same woman, and their twisted love and fate, and its gaining
popularity through Asia’s top actress Jeon Ji-Hyun, Jung Woo-Sung recently joining the Korean Wave with 'A Moment
to Remember', and Lee Sungjae, an actor with true talent.
